Course overview
The perfect introduction to thinking like a built environment professional and Civil Engineer, and available free to use at DEC School!

The course is packed full of interesting activities, suitable as an introduction to thinking about the built environment. 

The course was developed with colleagues from the Institute of Civil Engineers (ICE). It is a free resource from the ICE, suitable for students as young as Year 6 (age range 9+).

It consists of the following modules, or sessions: 

  • An introduction to civil engineering 
  • Geometry in engineering 
  • Materials used in construction 
  • Careers in civil engineering


Each module comes with PowerPoint slides, a Lesson Plan and student activities.
